Andy Delor, Score: 7
The striker came off the bench and beyond the great winning goal, put freshness in the Nice attack
Georginio Vinaldom, Score: 4
A very weak game for the Dutch midfielder who does not find his place in the city of lights
Just before the Champions League quarter-final clash with Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain wanted to take another step towards the return of the championship in France, but were stopped on the Riviera when they lost 1-0 to Nice, from a goal by Andy Delor in the 88th minute. It was the third meeting between the teams this season and in all of them PSG could not win and did not even score. The previous two games ended 0-0, when the cup game was decided in favor of Nice in the penalty shootout.
The first half was very bad on the part of the table leader, who came without Killian Ambape. Nice started with a lot of motivation and Amin Goiri got two wonderful opportunities but missed out on winking situations. On the other hand, Angel Di Maria ran over half a yard and missed one on one. Later in the game he calmed down when PSG controlled a little more but both teams were not dangerous and they went down to the break at 0: 0.
Also in the second half the trend continued and the hosts were better and more dangerous. As the minutes went by, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Nice found themselves out of position and their organization level dropped to passable. In the 88th minute a fatal outburst, which began with Neymar’s ball loss, ended in a great goal from Andy Delor, who stuck close to the connections. Towards the end of the game the game warmed up after the referee ruled Pendel to the host, but changed his mind in the VAR test and did not add more time, but it did not change the result and PSG lost 1: 0.
Christophe Galatieri is undoubtedly the black sheep of Paris Saint-Germain. Since the beginning of the Qatari era about a decade ago, no coach has taken more points from the team from the capital, with no less than 17 of them. His team has risen, at least temporarily, to second place in the table, as it is 13 points away from the leading PSG.
