Russia has reduced the supply of liquefied gas to Ukraine in November to 30% of the declared volumes, said the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy and Housing and Utilities Andriy Gerus in his Telegram channel.

“The Russian Federation has limited the November supplies of liquefied gas to Ukraine to 30% of the volumes declared by exporters,” Gerus said.

He explained that this should not have a significant impact on the Ukrainian market: exporters traditionally overestimated the declared volumes of supplies, as well as low activity in such gas purchases in November.

Earlier, TASS reported, citing data from the RBP platform, that on November 2, at the auction, Gazprom did not book additional capacities for gas transit through the territory of Ukraine in the first or third quarters of 2022.

In October, Gazprom refused to book additional transit capacities for 9.8 million cubic meters. meters of gas per day through Ukraine in November through the Sudzha gas distribution station and up to 5.2 million cubic meters. m per day through the station “Preservation”. In general, Gazprom supplies gas through Ukraine under a contract with Naftogaz, valid until 2024, but the Ukrainian gas transmission system operator may offer additional capacities that the supplier can buy out if necessary.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that in the nine months of 2021 Gazprom increased gas supplies through Ukraine by more than 8%. “It is safe to say that we will exceed our contractual obligations to supply gas through the territory of Ukraine,” Putin said. He explained that it is economically unprofitable for Gazprom to increase pumping through the Ukrainian gas transportation system even more. Pumping through new systems is cheaper by about $ 3 billion per year.
