Former Trotskyist, Jean-Luc Mélenchon hates “fractions”. And even more the “internal currents”, a bad memory reminding him of the Socialist Party, which he always sought to extinguish within La France Insoumise. But faced with the “lack” of internal democracy of its gas movement, some rebels have decided to structure themselves. According to our information, the Ecosocialist Left (GES), the micro party to which Clémentine Autain belongs, is organizing its founding congress from Friday to Sunday in Montreuil (Seine-Saint-Denis). Note that among the guests will be the Green MP Sandrine Rousseau, Saturday afternoon, during a round table on “The global feminist revolution and its effects on the political field in France”.

Composed of a few hundred former members of Ensemble-Insoumis, a group already run by Autain, this organization now intends to form a real “internal movement” within LFI. “The idea is to have a real organization because of the lack of structuring of the movement”, explains the rebellious deputy of Marseilles, Hendrik Davi, future member of the direction of this micro-party. Three other LFI deputies are members alongside him: the deputy of Puy-de-Dôme Marianne Maximi, the deputy of Gard Michel Sala, and therefore Clémentine Autain. The deputy is one of the “slingers” of LFI, left on the sidelines of the management of LFI.

Fervent defender of “the union of the left”, this new current pleads for “having a militant collective which allows collective decisions to be taken”. In the long term, its members wish to present “texts of orientations” as in the socialist party, an operation reviled by Jean-Luc Mélenchon… “It has proven itself anyway, defends Hendrik Davi. It’s cumbersome and bureaucratic, but it holds, ”argues the one who is also a member of the CGT.

“Build something over a very long time”

Very critical of the current functioning of LFI, led by a coordination made up of relatives of Jean-Luc Mélenchon, Hendrik Davi wants to “build something over a very long time”. He is also preparing a book, for next October or January, which will outline the main intellectual lines of the Ecosocialist Left. “Between two presidential campaigns, LFI is not effective,” he says. Remarks which he has already shared with Manuel Bompard, the national coordinator of LFI.

In cordial disagreement with Jean-Luc Mélenchon for a few years, Davi exchanged “very openly” several times on the subject with the rebellious leader, whose relations with Clémentine Autain are more than fresh. According to the deputy, spaces for exchange within LFI are all the more necessary as “the closer we get to the presidential election, the more the tensions between the personalities of the movement will crystallize”. And to confide his daze in the face of the lack of transparency of certain decisions taken by the management of LFI: “I feel a little helpless, I don’t know how to approach the problem…”

A few days ago the Ecosocialist Left has already made its voice heard internally. After the revelations by Mediapart of Insoumis militants critical of Adrien Quatennens and “files” by some of their comrades, the Ecosocialist Left wrote a letter to the coordination of LFI spaces to denounce a « illegal practice”, which “comes under the methods of [ses] worst adversaries and the police”. A survey also highlighting the weight gained by another small party, within the LFI galaxy: the Independent Workers’ Party (POI). Heirs of the Trotskyists of Pierre Lambert where Jean-Luc Mélenchon started.
