Lucknow: The Bahujan Samaj Party has announced that it is ready to form an alliance with the opposition parties if it nominates Mayawati as its prime ministerial candidate in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Telangana Chief Minister Chandrasekhara Rao are trying to form an alliance of opposition parties against the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections in 2024. Senior leaders of the party want the opposition to unite under the leadership of the Congress. Apart from this, it was reported that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is also trying to unite the opposition parties. In this way, all the opposition parties are talking to other parties alternately in their desire for the post of Prime Minister.
Meanwhile, UP, former chief minister and Bahujan Samaj Party leader Mayawati has entered the race for the prime ministerial candidate. In this regard, the party’s National Spokesperson Dharamveer Chaudhary said: If the opposition parties nominate Mayawati as the prime ministerial candidate, we are ready to form an alliance with them. If opposition parties respectfully approach our party and convey their plans to our leader (Mayawati), she will take the final decision on alliance. This is what he said.
Also, when reporters questioned the possibility of an alliance with Akhilesh Yadav, Mayawati is a bigger leader than Akhilesh Yadav. He has been the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh four times. Akhilesh has held office only once. Mayawati is big-hearted and forgiving of others’ mistakes. “If Akhilesh accepts Mayawati as the leader with an open mind, we will welcome her,” he said.
