After the rate was announced yesterday, today the State Fund “Agriculture” (DFZ) informed that the payment of the subsidies has begun, according to the interventions of direct payments for Campaign 2023 requested by the farmers.
6,017 animal breeders received a total of over BGN 31 million (BGN 31,366,431) under the intervention “Transitional national aid for cattle not related to production” (PNJ1). For the second year in a row, the DFZ transfers the national funds to the farmers’ bank accounts in full.
The rates under the PNJ1 intervention are set by Order of the Minister of Agriculture and Food. The order states that for one animal eligible for support, farmers receive support in the amount of BGN 73.75 for cattle and BGN 129.06 for buffalo.
Farmers who have grown 10 or more are entitled to support under the intervention cattle and/or 10 or more buffaloesregistered as of December 31, 2018. As of the last day for submission of applications for support from the current campaign, farmers must keep at least 50% of the reference number of animals on their holdings that meet the requirements of the Veterinary Medical Activity Act.
Financial support to help cattle breeders has been approved in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2021/2115 of the European Parliament and of the Council of December 2, 2021 to establish rules for support under the prepared Strategic Plans for the CAP. It states that transitional national aid can only be granted to sectors that received national top-ups in 2013.
