The people of Tarhuna condemn the return of members of the Al-Kani family to the city and demand justice

Today, the Tarhuna Victims Association issued a statement condemning the return of members of the Al-Kani family to the city, describing it as “a dangerous transgression and provocation against the families of the victims and a disdain for the innocent blood of children, women and the elderly.”

The Victims Association affirmed its rejection of “every desperate attempt to evade punishment under any pretext,” calling on the Public Prosecutor and the Military Prosecutor to open an urgent investigation and refer everyone who contributed to “the return of the terrorist group or provided them with guarantees to return, and bring them to justice.”

The association stressed that “they do not accept anyone who claims to have no connection to what happened unless the criminals, including their family members, are handed over to justice,” warning that “removing them from the city is better for them and for social peace in the city.”

The association called on the UN mission, the Human Rights Office, and the International Criminal Court to announce the arrest orders issued against criminals and work to implement them so that they can receive their punishment.

The association noted that the return of members of the Al-Kani family on Monday, September 23, raised great concerns among the families of the victims, missing persons, and victims of mass graves in Tarhuna and neighboring cities.
