Virudhunagar—The people of Virudhunagar Municipality 9th Ward are living with hardships such as sewage and rainwater drains are not cleared, congestion in the residences, traffic congestion due to encroachment of vehicles around the streets, and insufficient drinking water facilities.

This ward includes Bullalakkottai Road Main, 1 to 8 Streets in Bharatinagar area, Pichai Street, Veerabhatran Street, Sankaran Kinertu Street, Darkas Street.

As the Bharati Nagar area is dying, the rainwater and waste water flowing from areas such as the railway station and the old bus stand are flowing through this area. However, without adequate drainage facilities, the problem of stagnant water continues. Stagnant rainwater has been draining for months.

Targas Street is littered with unsanitary plastic waste and is a breeding ground for mosquitoes.

Since there are many shops and commercial establishments here, two-wheelers and cars are always occupying the streets, so other vehicles are unable to go to essential needs such as hospitals.

People of Bharti Nagar 6th Street are suffering without road facility. Street lighting is less.

At the entrance of many houses, car ramps have been set up on the road. This reduces the width of the road and hinders the passage of vehicles. Due to the lack of road facilities, women suffer from not being able to go out in the chaos.
