Tipex” is now celebrating the 30th anniversary of the release of the first album, “The Path of Kernel Hulls”, in a series of performances. In recent years, she has been at the peak of her power: she appears very frequently, much more than bands younger than her or a band that broke out with her in the early nineties. On stage Kobi Oz, The leader of the pack, giving everything he has, he seems to have been born with renewed appetite.
In the concert, the band performs its hits from all the albums, which since their release have become part of the Israeli musical canon, among them: “The Old Station”, “Disco Menaik”, “In Newspaper”, “I Have a Friend”, “Rabbi Joe Kfarra”. The songs receive an energetic performance that sweeps the audience.
Tipax is an unusual band in the local musical landscape. She combined East and West, periphery and center, between sacred and profane, long before these connections entered the mainstream. And she always did it with a lot of humor and style. In this sense she is inimitable.
