The perverse charm of an inferiority complex

Of course, in the case of Deadpool & Wolverine, the 18th ring flourishes on screen as well. In comparison, the director Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum, Vasököl, Free Guy) has created a truly funny work, which is accompanied by a lot of swearing. But that’s not the point, but the fact that the Deadpool movie is never so entertaining, let’s not even talk about the entertainment factor of the previous Wolf movies. The combination of tight-lipped and grumpy Wolverine with Deapool from Locsifec is probably the best thing that could have happened to Marvel.

Hugh Jackman (left) may not have regretted playing Wolverine again.

The concept of the film starts from the fact that there are two superheroes in the universe… I mean, in the multiverse (I will get to that later), who are true outsiders, the X-men or Avengers are not welcome members. However, there is one crucial difference between the two title characters: while Rozsomák is an outsider by choice, Deadpool doesn’t really like anyone. But he needs much more, even to redeem the whole world, humanity, as Jesus Christ himself did at that time.

I didn’t invent the parallel, Deadpool himself says he wants to be the Nazarene superhero who saves the multiverse. He is oppressed by an almost constant feeling of inferiority, and, of course, Rozsomák’s charisma adds a few extra pounds. Deadpool should first save himself and the time plane in which he exists, so that – as a result of the entanglement of individual timelines – hand in hand with Wolverines, the fate of the entire multiverse can be turned in a better direction.

In this film, the same control center (the TVA, ie the Space Variance Foundation) that we saw in the Loki series finally appears. Accordingly, the initial events of the film span different universes, so that beyond the point where the main plot thread ends in the so-called Stack, where the ejected entities live in the multiverse. Those who are not needed anywhere else. This is the point in the film where the creators could really let their imagination go.

Deadpool & Wolverine really indulges in self-reflection and self-irony (we will leave the perversion for now, that belongs on another page), and winks are more and more entertaining. I do not want to spoil it, so let it be enough that Blake Lively as a female Deadpool is just one of the crazy ideas that the creators come up with during the game time of two hours. Apart from the two main characters – Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman – I don’t even want to mention any more stars, I will say that there are some hot surprises.
