The decision to have children currently seems increasingly complex for some couples, which led pastor Rodrigo Mocellin to criticize what he called the “’pet parent’ generation”, in reference to the people who most resemble Prefer the company of animals to that of human beings.

Through his Instagram profile, the religious leader shared the story of a couple who are expecting their eighth child, something already considered rare by the standards of modern families in most countries.

According to Mocellin, it is a mistake to think that having many children is something only for those with excellent financial conditions. The pastor recalled that the most humble people, when they also have large offspring, are also criticized.

“Having a child in this selfish, materialistic and unbelieving world is a crime. If you are poor and have children, you are irresponsible. If you are rich and have children, they despise you too”, argued the religious man.

Financial issue?

The question of whether or not to have many children was also addressed by pastor Yago Martins when answering a follower’s question. According to the religious man, the financial argument should not be used as an impediment to family growth, except in conditions of “misery”.

“’I’m not going to have any more children because I don’t have money’. Nonsense. Get into debt, run out of money, spend everything you have. It’s better to have more children and not have as much money than to have a lot of money and not have as many children as you can.” argued Yago.

According to the pastor, the concern about money should not be greater than the joy of being able to generate one or many lives. “The financial issue is only a good excuse for not having children if you are extremely poor, if you are a person on the line of poverty. If this is not the scenario, we are going to have children, which is too good”, he concluded. Watch:
