The Petroleum Corporation participates in the Mediterranean Conference in Alexandria

A delegation from the Libya Company discusses developments in the South Refinery project”>National Oil Corporation and its companies participated in the Mediterranean Conference (MOC 2024), which will be held in Alexandria during the period from 20 to 22 October.

The conference sessions focused on “discussing the main issues in the oil and gas sector, most notably the development and management of oil and gas fields, reusing marine infrastructure in sustainable ways, and applying the latest well control technologies to improve operational efficiency and safety standards.”

The conference also reviewed “modern technical innovations that aim to increase production capacity and achieve sustainable growth, in accordance with the best environmental and economic practices.”

The Corporation’s Petroleum Research Center participated with two research papers, “The first dealt with permeability modeling using various methods such as electrical facies and machine learning algorithms, while the second paper focused on integrating well pressure data and fluid characterization, with the aim of improving reservoir models and production strategies.”

It is worth noting that these two papers “received the attention of participants and attendees and praise for the value of their scientific and professional content, which reflects the level of high competencies and leading national capabilities in the Libyan oil sector.”

On the other hand, on the sidelines of the conference, and at the invitation of the head of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation, “the delegation of the National Oil Corporation held a meeting with the head of the authority and a group of heads of Egyptian oil sector companies, during which ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in various oil fields were discussed.”

The corporation’s participation in this conference comes “as part of its strategy to modernize its operations and increase its operational efficiency, which contributes to increasing oil production and strengthening the national economy.”
