The new Ram 1200 is not long in coming to our market. And the new pickup truck code-named Project 291 has been in the works for some time.

It is likely that the pickup is the most powerful ever manufactured in Brazil. The rookie will have new 2.0 turbo Hurricane engines, which puts her in direct dispute with Toro.

Visible from the front end of the Ram 1200 is a large grille with horizontal slats and space for a large Ram emblem. It’s a little more difficult to determine the shape of the headlights, but they certainly look slimmer than those on the Ram 1500.

Elsewhere, we can see that the truck will have square wheel arches, prominent character lines running down the sides and a simple vertical taillight cluster.

The teaser also shows the new Ram pickup gliding across a dirt test track while also climbing a flight of stairs without breaking a sweat.

Ram notes that the new vehicle is the first it has developed and will produce in South America. It has also been confirmed that the truck will sport the brand’s 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder Hurricane 4 engine, similar to the powertrain offered in the Jeep Wrangler and other Stellantis models. In the US, this engine is good for 270 hp and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. Although the automaker has not yet confirmed which transmission this engine will be mated to, it is expected to be a nine-speed four-wheel automatic transmission.

The automaker is expected to sell the new truck in several different shapes, including Big Horn, Laramie, R/T and Rebel shapes. A date for the truck’s presentation has not yet been announced, but we hope to see it in the flesh before the end of this year.
