In addition to photographs, Bryan Adams has also signed the song of the same name “On the road” that the 62-year-old Canadian rocker wrote for the Calendar and will be featured on his next album. It is no coincidence that the calendar is presented inside the case of a vinyl LP. The return of The Cal also coincides with the year of the celebration of Pirelli’s 150th anniversary, whose logo was unveiled at the same time as the calendar by the number one of the group, Marco Tronchetti Provera. The CEO thanked Adams as “a great man” and a “far-sighted and visionary artist” who “has done wonderful things for this calendar.”

The photos were taken last summer, in just three days of work, in two locations in Los Angeles – the Palace Theater and the Chateau Marmont hotel in Hollywood – and in Capri at the Scalinatella hotel.

In ‘The Cal 2022’ he tried to capture the distinctive features of the different artists and the months of the Calendar follow one another with over 160 pages and more than 70 shots: from waking up in the hotel in St. Vincent (whose face also appears on the cover of the volume ), to the day of break by the pool of Kali Uchis, from the check out towards another trip by Saweetie to the backstage of Cher, from Normani’s rest before rehearsals of sound upon arrival at the theater by Jennifer Hudson, from moments before Iggy Pop’s show (also immortalized on the back cover) to Grimes in the recording studio, from Bohan Phoenix returning to the hotel after her performance to Rita Ora after the show.

“It would be really difficult to summarize with a few days’ work – he explained – everything that happens on the road. What I tried to do was therefore to represent some aspects of it. For instance, we musicians never really see the facade of the building, but always only the back: we see the artists’ entrance, we see the backstage area, we see the basement. We pass from the artists’ entrance to the car door to that of the hotel to that of the train and then the bus. A lot of doors, therefore, but it’s always about travel ”.
