Geneva> World Health Organization (WHO) chief Tedros Adanam Gebriasis has warned that the Kovid epidemic is not over. It is a mistake to think that the omicron variant is not serious. The number of new patients in European countries has risen sharply. For the first time in Germany, the daily number of patients crossed one million. In France it reached close to five lakhs.
Last week alone, more than 1.8 billion people worldwide were infected with the Omicron virus. Patients are in need of hospital treatment and deaths are being reported. Tedros Adanam therefore said that the propaganda that Omicron would not be serious was misleading. He also warned of the possibility of new variants.
