The Shabbat Square disclosure of the threats against an ultra-Orthodox member of the Knesset: it can now be announced that this is a representative of Agudath Israel, Knesset member Meir Parosh.

The police received a concrete threat of harm to Parosh, and forwarded the information to the Knesset officer at the same time as updating the MK, and increased police patrols in the area where he lives in Jerusalem.

The background: There was concern among extremist elements in Jerusalem that Parosh would oppose the plea agreement signed this week between the prosecutor’s office and Moshe Iram, the extremist activist who attacked rabbis and public figures.

Parosh, could object to the plea agreement due to being an interested party, since he was attacked by Iram and his messengers. Parosh did not object, and those around him say that he did not even consider objecting.

With the signing of the plea agreement, the police informed that the threat had been removed.

According to the amended indictment, Moshe Iram acted against senior public figures in ultra-Orthodox society, among other things, against Knesset member Meir Forosh, himself and by using people on his behalf and committed various crimes against them, assaulting, looting, threatening them, and in two cases blackmailing them by force and threats.

It also appears that the motive for carrying out the acts was ideological, in order to discourage them from acting and promote their positions and halachic rulings in the public.

“The accused was convicted of the crimes of extortion by force, extortion by threats, assault causing actual injury, assault of a public servant under aggravated circumstances, defacement of real estate and the offense of dishonorable death.” Written.

The prosecutor’s office added that “as part of the case, Elhanan Oren was also charged for his activities against senior public figures in ultra-Orthodox society, the case in his case is being conducted in court.”
