The plenary session of the ERGP also confirmed P. Galidis as Vice President for 2025 – What is stated in the announcement from the Office of the Communications Commissioner
At the 26th Plenary Session of the Group of European Regulators for Postal Services (ERGP(b) attended by the Assistant Communications Commissioner Peter Galidis during which his position as Deputy President of the House for 2025 was also confirmed.
According to an announcement from the Office of the Communications Commissioner, ERGP Assistant Commissioner and Vice President Petros Galidis and competent Telecommunications and Postal Officer Michalis Nikolaou participated in the 26th session of the ERGP Plenary, held in Vienna on June 21, 2024.
The Plenary also confirmed Dan Sjöblom, Director General of the Swedish Post and Telecommunications Authority (PTS), as Chairman of the ERGP for 2025. He also confirmed Assistant Commissioner for Communications Petros Galidis as Deputy Chairman of the ERGP for 2025, he added.
In addition, the Plenary debated and approved for Public Consultation the draft ERGP Agenda for 2025, which was prepared taking into account the three strategic pillars of the ERGP Mid-Term Strategy 2023-2025. The draft will be subject to public consultation from 5 July to 4 October 2024.
As stated in the announcement, the Plenary also approved the document “ERGP PL I (24) 11 – ERGP Report on access to parcel delivery infrastructure”, which will be published on the ERGP website.
It is noted that the day before the Plenary, on June 20, the ERGP held a public Workshop on “Vulnerable users in the world of work: Who?” What is needed? What lies ahead?” The aim of the workshop was to examine and discuss who the vulnerable users of postal services are, what their demands/needs are and how they will continue to be served, taking into account the changes taking place in the sector of the postal service.
The workshop looked in depth at the key issues surrounding postal services from the perspective of vulnerable potential users, operators and policy makers. The results will contribute to the work of the Report on the needs of postal services for vulnerable users, which will be adopted at the 27th ERGP Plenary.
The ERGP (European Regulators Group for Postal Services) is made up of the 27 National Regulatory Authorities for Postal Services of the European Union and the Regulatory Authorities of the countries of the European Economic Area and of the countries that are Accession Candidates. The ERGP provides advice and assistance to the European Commission regarding the development of the internal market for postal services and the uniform implementation of the Regulatory Framework in each Member State.
