“The objective is to show and promote a plurality of young voices that are today confronting the system through poetry. “That people can have a map of different aesthetics and positions,” describes Alberto García Teresa, doctor in Hispanic Philology, prologue writer and co-editor of this anthology, the hard work he has done together with his colleague David Trashumante, in charge of the epilogue, to bring out move forward the project. Under the title Latest critical poetry, young poets in times of collapse (Lastura Ediciones, 2023), The compilation offers a set of critical poems written by 34 authors from the Spanish State born after 1992. That is, under 31 years of age at the moment.

The year 1992 marked Spain’s entry into European postmodernism. National neoliberal capitalism becomes the triumphant torch and a new political cycle makes its way after the absolute dominance of Felipe González’s PSOE. Many of the poets who make up this book lived through crises like that of 2008 or experienced 15M. Job insecurity, high housing and education costs, degradation of public services, migratory processes of departure and reception are some of the themes dealt with in the poems spread throughout the book.
