The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet patch confirms that Nintendo takes technical issues seriously

by time news

The first post-release patch for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet comes with Nintendo promising to take the games’ technical issues seriously.

The patch notes released on Nintendo’s website for version 1.1.0 of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet now fix the broken music during Elite Four and Top Champion battles, along with a vague confirmation that “other fixes for selected bugs have been made”. The update available now also kicks off the first season of Ranked Battles.

Nintendo has committed to improving the world’s first open-world Pokemon games and has apologized for the many issues with release versions.

“We are aware that players may experience issues affecting gaming performance,” Nintendo said. “Our goal is to always provide players with a positive experience in our games, and we apologize for the inconvenience. We take player feedback seriously and work to improve the games.”

However, it did not say when these updates would arrive, but this first patch was released within two weeks of the game’s launch and exactly three weeks after the release of the “Day 1 Patch” for those with early copies. If Nintendo sticks to a similar trend, it might be mid to late December before we see another update for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Among the issues identified so far are a broken PvE experience at the end of the game, a rigged battlefield, duplicate bugs, a weird dual-speed mode, and more.

The poor performance was a major factor in our 6/10 review, as IGN said: “Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is a great direction for the future of the open-world game franchise, but this promising turnaround is undermined by many of the ways in which Scarlet and Violet feel very incomplete.”
