The signs for this can be seen in 12 places between Popovitsa and Sadovo and between Trud and Banya

As of this week, signs have been installed on two of the busiest roads in the district to indicate specially designated places for speed control, the police said.

Drivers traveling in both directions on the road Plovdiv – Svilengrad, between Popovitsa and Sadovo, and Plovdiv – Karlovo, between Trud and Banya, will now be informed of a total of 12 points where their cars can be detected by speed cameras by teams of the regional directorate of the Ministry of the Interior.

The newly introduced sign signaling is in fulfillment of one of the decisions taken at an extraordinary meeting of the Regional Traffic Safety Commission. The police recall that it was convened at the end of April on the initiative of the director of the police, Senior Commissioner Georgi Chergov. Together with representatives of all institutions involved in the topic, certain problems surrounding the road transport situation were discussed and concrete measures were identified to overcome them.

As part of the joint preventive efforts to effectively ensure road safety in the district, as well as to ensure the safe work of police officers, it is expected that similar checkpoints will be set up on other road sections.
