Maulana Ahmad Abdul Qayyum, Central Propaganda and Dawah Affairs Secretary of Islami Andolan Bangladesh demanded the punishment of police officer Tahsin Masruf Hossain Masfi. He said, Bankheko Musharraf’s son police officer Mashroof insulted the Holy Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and made the hearts of Muslims bleed. He should be expelled from his job and given an exemplary punishment for his audacious statement about the Prophet of Islam claiming to be a Muslim.
He made this demand in the speech of the chief guest at the rally organized by the Dhaka metropolitan branch of Islamic Youth Movement at the north gate of Baitul Mokarram on Friday (July 12).
Al Amin Sohag, President of Dhaka Metropolis South of Islamic Youth Movement, was the main speaker in the gathering, Secretary General of the organization Mufti Mansoor Ahmad Saki. Organizing Secretary Maulana Ilyas Hasan, MA Hasib Goldar, HM Abu Bakar Siddique, Shafiqul Islam, Mufti Hossain Muhammad Kawshar Bangali, Mufti Hafizul Haque Fayyaz and others also spoke.
Earlier, the leaders and activists of the Islamic Youth Movement took out a protest march from Baitul Mukarram North Gate. The procession came to the photojournalist premises next to Baitul Mukarram North Gate after Paltan Morr and ended.
Despite the hostile weather, the leaders and workers of the party participated in the procession and raised slogans against various irregularities and corruption of the government.
Maulana Ahmad Abdul Qayyum said in the rally that the government is now acting unbalanced. They have once again taken a stand against the people’s opinion by taking a rail transit with India against the country’s interest. By protecting the interests of India, which regularly shoots and kills Bangladeshi civilians like birds on the border, the government has proved a knee-jerk foreign policy. This agreement should be terminated immediately and other outstanding agreements with India should be addressed.
Mufti Mansoor Ahmed Saki said, the country is not good today. Flooding in all cities including the capital. With the increase in commodity prices, the government has started the process of destroying the talent of the country by re-introducing the quota system. All quotas should be brought within the maximum range of 5 to 10 percent by logically reforming the quota system. We are supporting the anti-quota movement.
