Zubair, Central Branch Committee Member and Unit Secretary of the Transporters Union (CITU), was expelled in the local committee meeting held on Tuesday. DYFI and CPM New Year’s celebrations were organized in Kundukandam and Pothukund along with subsidiary organizations.
Soon after 10 o’clock, the police arrived and stopped both events. Due to this, the children, including those who had their make-up on, could not present their performances.
This resulted in severe criticism against the police. According to the police, they intervened because some of the party members complained. The party took action after realizing that K. Zubair was behind. PR Suresh presided over the meeting. District Committee Member M. Karunakaran, Area Secretary Sajan K. Joseph, P. Ravindran, Saju Joseph, Adv.
