The “polisario” imposes a “regime of terror” in the Tindouf camps (Spanish academic)

“The leadership of the Polisario is a band of criminals who have imposed a regime of terror in the Tindouf camps: a prison in the desert where human rights are systematically violated,” Alvarez Garcia is indignant in a column published on Saturday to the Spanish newspaper “La Razon”.

“The Polisario Front is a bloodthirsty and kleptocratic organization whose ambition is to establish, through armed struggle, a fictitious and instrumentalized state in the Sahara”, a “historically and legally Moroccan territory”, observes the professor of constitutional law in the Pablo Olavide University of Seville.

Despite the maneuvers of the “polisario”, supported by Algeria, “the sovereignty of Morocco over its Sahara is incontestable”, insists the Spanish academician, welcoming the steps taken by Morocco to resolve this artificial dispute.

The Kingdom of Morocco, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, advocates the resolution of this artificial conflict with a “holistic approach”, encompassing “political and diplomatic action and the promotion of socio-economic and human development in the region “, he wrote, stressing that HM the King has “always maintained a sincere and fraternal dialogue” to resolve the artificial dispute around the Moroccan Sahara through the autonomy initiative which constitutes a “pragmatic solution”.

The autonomy proposed by Morocco “is the most serious, the most realistic and the most credible proposal” to resolve the dispute, believes Alvarez Garcia, noting that this proposal enjoys the “legal support of twenty resolutions of the Security Council of the Nations united states, the political support of the Gulf Cooperation Council, the United States, Japan, Brazil and the main European countries, and the diplomatic recognition of twenty-six consulates in Laayoune and Dakhla.
