According to the politician, NATO allies are discussing a common response to similar situations, but have not reached any conclusions yet.

“The rules are precise when it comes to when such weapons can be shot down,” Kosiniak-Kamysz said at a press conference in the southeastern town of Tarnuvo.

He stated that Poland can respond to Russian weapons violating the country’s airspace, but as a peaceful country, it must meet certain criteria.

According to W. Kosiniak-Kamysz, Warsaw must arm itself and prepare by acquiring the best air defense systems.

The minister’s statement came after Poland re-launched its F-16 fighter jets after Russian missiles and drones violated the country’s airspace.

The intrusion of a Russian drone into Romanian skies during attacks against Ukraine was just a repeat of past events. Since the Kremlin launched a full-scale war against Ukraine, Bucharest has reported numerous cases of Russian drone debris falling on Romanian territory along the Danube River. However, such an incident was unprecedented in Latvia until now.

According to the Latvian Defense Ministry, the drone entered Latvian airspace from Belarus and crashed in the eastern part of the country. Both Riga and Bucharest insist that neither country was the target of Moscow’s attacks over the weekend.
