The leaders of the Union Progressive le Renouveau party were in ordinary session of the Political Bureau on Saturday August 12, 2023. During the work of this session which took place at the Benin Royal Hotel in Cotonou, the participants proceeded to reread the texts and to the adoption of modifications to the statutes of the Union Progressive le Renouveau in accordance with the fundamental texts of the party. This session ended with the unanimous approval of the various modifications and other innovations made to the statutes and fundamental texts of the party. To this end, the party’s “Political Bureau” has grown to over 300 members. As for the “National Executive Direction”, it has been strengthened. The presidium is replaced by a new body called “Haute Direction Politique” and goes from 3 members to 9 members. It is still chaired by Professor Joseph Fifamin Djogbénou, who now has the title of ”President of the Senior Political Directorate”. By proceeding in this way, the leaders of the Union Progressive le Renouveau intend to consolidate their anchorage on the national political spectrum in order to meet new challenges.
