The Pontet-Canet winery produces one of the best Bordeaux wines

The five-phase classification of Bordeaux red vines refers almost exclusively to the Médoc cellars. It dates back to 1855 and has only been modified once in almost 170 years: Château Mouton Rothschild was born in 1973 second class to even more prestigious ones first classified growths ON. In addition to Mouton, these include the Châteaux Lafite Rothschild, Latour, Margaux and – the only winery not from the Médoc, but from Pessac-Léognan – Haut-Brion.
