The PP candidate for Congress for the province of Almería Maribel S. Torregrosa, together with the candidates for the Senate Miguel Ángel Castellón and Juan José Matarí, and the PP spokesman in the Antas City Council, Juan de Dios Sola, visited this Saturday the transport company J. Cano, located in the Antuso industrial estate, from where they have valued the “important role played by road transport” in the province, “the one with the most trucks per population and which, in addition, leads fruit and vegetable exports in Spain and those of natural stone and plaster in Andalusia”.

Torregrosa recalled how in the last five years the road freight transport sector has had to call different strikes for the Government to “react to the difficult situation they have gone through, even working at a loss and causing problems in the supply chain supplies, because of a president who has sinned in arrogance in this conflict and who has taken a long time to dialogue”, the formation highlights in a press release.

The PP candidate has asked for the vote for Alberto Núñez Feijóo on July 23 because “if she achieves a sufficient majority, she will promote measures in favor of the road freight transport sector to guarantee that they do not provide services with prices below costs ; or to avoid breaching the prohibition to carry out loading and unloading tasks for drivers”.

In addition, “the new Government of the PP is committed to offering safer parking spaces for trucks; and it will continue with the calls for aid for the training and recycling of professionals in the sector, as well as taking measures to facilitate access to the profession with aid to be able to obtain the driver’s license”.

HIGHWAY TOLLS

On the other hand, the PP candidate has referred to the toll on the highways and has indicated that we are facing a “new lie” from President Sánchez and a “new mortgage” that the new government that leaves the polls on 23J will inherit.

Sánchez Torregrosa explained that the Government of Sánchez “committed to the EU that we start paying tolls in 2024, as stated in the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan that the Government sent to Brussels in the negotiation of the Funds’ Next Generation”. “Sánchez has hidden the reality, he has even denied it on several occasions, as happened in the ‘face to face’ with Feijóo, and just three days later, the general director of Traffic, Pere Navarro, acknowledged on television the commitment to the EU and announced that we would have to pay for the highways,” he said.
