It has long been clear that the Macan will be Porsche’s second electric car model after the Taycan, and now the specifications and the Norwegian price are finally clear.

The entry-level model, the Macan 4, has 408 horsepower, and a range that is stated to be between 516 and 613 kilometers.

The version has a top speed of 220 kilometers per hour and does zero to hundred in 5.2 seconds.

The Macan Turbo has 639 horsepower and a range that should be between 518 and 591 kilometers. Here, the top speed is 250 kilometers per hour, while zero to hundred takes 3.3 seconds.

Both versions have a battery of 100 kWh, with 95 kWh of usable energy. The Macan is based on the new PPE platform, which is also the basis for Audi’s upcoming A6 and Q6 models.

It has an 800-volt architecture that offers a charging speed of up to 270 kilowatts. Charging from 10 to 80 percent should take 21 minutes.

Design

The body is an SUV with a coupe shape on the roofline.

The length is 478 centimeters, the car is 194 centimeters wide and 162 centimeters high. The Macan can have up to 22-inch wheels, and the wheelbase is 8.6 centimeters longer than the model it replaces. The drag coefficient is stated as 0.25.

The front has the same design features as the Taycan, with lights that have two light rows and LED matrix technology.

Of practical things, Porsche highlights a luggage compartment that holds 540 litres, in addition, the Macan has a trunk that holds 84 litres. In total, this should be 136 liters more than the previous edition.

The car can also tow a two-tonne trailer.

Lower

Inside, the sitting position is 2.8 centimeters lower than before, while there is more legroom in the back seat.

The dashboard has three screens, across the entire width of the car, two of 10.9 inches and one of 12.6 inches. For the first time in a Porsche, the head-up display uses “augmented reality” – extended reality – which combines virtual and real information from the surroundings.

Both Macan versions have four-wheel drive, electronic dampers are standard on the Macan Turbo, while it is optional on the Macan 4. As an option, you can choose steering on the rear axle, which should give a turning radius of 11.1 metres.

The Norwegian importer says there are plans for a “gradual market launch in the second half of 2024.”

The Macan 4 starts at DKK 876,839 and the Macan Turbo at DKK 1,236,728. The cheapest Taycan costs today from DKK 957,479.
