The International Association for collaboration between ports and cities (RETE), has promoted the creation of four new vice presidencies, one of them being the president of the Port Authority of Seville, Rafael Carmona. This renewal of the RETE executive committee has included the re-election of Teófila Martínez (president of the Port Authority of Cádiz), as president of the entity, during the celebration of the 37th Meeting of the Association held today in Madrid, specifically at the Ports headquarters of the State, as reported in a press release.

Teófila Martínez, current president of the Port Authority of Cádiz, has been elected for a second term in the presidency of RETE. She will be accompanied on the governing board by four vice presidents: Latin America, Roberto Converti; Italy: Barbara Bonciani; Spain: Rafael Carmona; and Portugal: Marta Pontes. As members, Manuel Arana, Roger Ríos, David Pino, Luis Prieto and Martín Fernández. The general secretary will continue to be Raquel Boy. Ports, cities, scientific experts and urban planning specialists from RETE member countries are represented on this board.

Among the main lines of action for the new RETE governing board is to create vice presidencies in Spain, Portugal, Italy and Latin America, which allow autonomy in the organization of activities and events and encourage the strengthening of the association’s associative base , “not only through the incorporation of new ports, but also, and especially, of cities and universities,” the new Board of Directors announced.

Another objective is to increase the functioning of the Scientific Committee, promote the dissemination of the ‘Advanced Nodes’ model and continue developing the international dimension of RETE.
