The board of directors of the Port Authority of Alicante (Spain) has approved in its session on February 24, the granting of an administrative concession to GPH Cruise Port Finance and Servicios Portuarios Canarios for the operation of the cruise ship station.

Both companies will be able to jointly manage for a period of fifteen years the provision of the port service to passengers and those other services and activities related or compatible with cruise ship traffic in the 5,373 m² Alicante port facility.

Likewise, some rates applicable to this concession have been specified, which, in the case of the one paid by occupation, amount to 28,741.79 euros per year for the entire facility, to 19,705.40 euros per year for the value of the works and installations related to the first floor of the terminal, at 5,814.36 euros per year for the value of the works and installations corresponding to the boarding bridge, at 1,153.91 euros per year for the value of the works and installations of boxes no. 2, 3 and 4 of the terminal and 1,368.03 euros per year.

It is worth mentioning that the Alicante enclave has detailed that an annual amount in addition to those established for the occupancy rate of 10,000 euros will be paid in advance. Regarding the activity tax, it will be calculated under a quota of 0.20 euros on the passenger traffic developed under the concession. Likewise, minimum traffic of 100,000 passengers will be implemented for the first year, 110,000 passengers by 2024 and 120,000 passengers from 2025.

For these traffics, an annual amount will be paid in arrears, apart from those established for the activity rate of 10,000 euros.

On the other hand, the Port of Alicante has chosen Eiffage Energía to carry out its electricity supply project for ships at docks 17, 15, 13 and 11 for an amount of 1,448,466.64 euros and an execution period of eight months.
