The Gijón Port Authority (spain), is committed to reducing energy consumption, since it favors lowering costs from an environmental point of view and has a positive impact on the port itself and the port community.

Taking these factors into account, the Gijón enclave has awarded Sferoane Solutions & Services the contract to integrate a photovoltaic installation on the main roof of its multipurpose building, which will be used for self-consumption of the electricity generated in the enclave itself. Asturian. The initiative has an amount of 214,797.99 euros and an execution period of four months.

Specifically, this installation is made up of a field of 400 collectors, distributed on the main flat roof, in such a way that the modules considered are 450 Wp of monocrystalline cell technology.

It should be noted that each group of panels will have protection against overload and overcurrent, all of them mounted in the boxes located on the roof. Meanwhile, the support and inclination of the panels will be regulated on a flat roof on a solar structure made of aluminum profiles and anchored to the slab.

All the installation masses of both the direct current and alternating current sections will be connected to a single ground and a bare copper cable will be installed that will join all the module casings, in addition to the generator structure that will be connected to the existing ground of the building.

Another change that has occurred in the area is that Endesa has been chosen by Enagás to work as a logistics service provider at the El Musel Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant, located in the Port of Gijón, thus closing the process selection process in which a total of 13 offers were registered.
