The Huelva Port Authority (spain) y Endesa They have signed a collaboration protocol to advance the enclave’s energy transition. The agreement is part of the objective of transforming the port into a sustainable space based on the production of clean energy, the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions, as well as being a model for economic growth in Andalusia.

The contract, which has the support of the Ministries of Sustainability, Environment and Blue Economy as well as Industry, Energy and Mines of the Junta de Andalucía, transforms the port’s energy management in accordance with European, state and regional regulations on decarbonization by 2030.

This project also presents the greening and decarbonisation of Andalusian ports as key factors for a sustainable blue economy and their fundamental role in the region’s economy. Likewise, it is committed to innovative solutions such as biofuels, renewable hydrogen, green methanol and green ammonia, in which Andalusia shows strength and capacity to lead the energy transition.

The Huelva Port Authority has mentioned that Endesa and the ministries are supporting the positioning of the port as a clean energy production center. In fact, the new strategic plan for the port of Huelva 2023-2030, with a view to 2050, is seen as a crucial roadmap to become a leading energy and industrial cluster in decarbonisation, as well as for logistics and intermodal growth.

Apart from this initiative, the contracting committee of the Huelva Port Authority has granted Hiades Business Patterns the initiative to design a port services management platform for an amount of 493,824.06 euros and an execution period of thirty months.
