In a context in which technology plays an increasingly crucial role in ports, Port Authority of Huelva (Spain) intends to establish an office dedicated to the management of technological projects.

This initiative is aligned with the port’s strategic objectives, which seeks to maximize management efficiency and effectiveness through cutting-edge technology, as well as promote research, technological development and innovation to boost competitiveness.

The port aspires to create synergies between current and future systems to guarantee the best exploitation of data, as proposed in its Transformation Plan for the period from 2021 to 2026.

For their part, those responsible for the port anticipate that the technological project management office will be responsible for carrying out analysis and contributing to the definition of projects in various areas related to port management and operations. In addition, it will support the Port Authority in directing the projects that are finally carried out.

It is worth mentioning that the areas of action of this office will cover project management, specialized and technological consulting, as well as technical assistance work. The bidding process for the creation of this new entity has an execution period of sixty months, a base bidding budget of 787,422.50 euros and an estimated contract value of 1,084,604 euros.

In addition to improving the quality of its services, the Port of Huelva has recently highlighted its commitment to the fruit and vegetable sector at the Fruit Attraction fair, an event in which it mentioned the importance of port infrastructure for the agri-food sector of the province and its surroundings. accessible.
