The Port of Motril tenders the connection between the ZAL and the road network

The Port Authority of Motril (Spain) has begun the bidding process for the construction of a roundabout linking the Logistics Activities Zone (ZAL) with the national highway N-347 GR, in order to facilitate the transit of heavy vehicles .

The main objective of this project is to build an infrastructure that meets the requirements of safety, comfort, adaptation to the terrain and adaptation to the urban framework, environmental integration. To this end, a roundabout will be installed to help organize road traffic at the intersection between the N-347-GR, the Patria road and future roads in the industrial sector.

This is a project that had already been proposed before, but due to the lack of availability of land in the area and the need to install a roundabout to regulate traffic at the confluence of the ZAL road with the CN-347 GR , it is essential to adapt the plan to the availability of existing land, so that the new configuration of the roundabout speeds up the operation of the port.

The works have an execution period of four months, a bidding base budget of 295,205.90 euros and an estimated contract value of 243,971.82 euros.

On the other hand, the Motril Port Authority has begun the construction of photovoltaic canopies and a vehicle inspection shed, whose investment amounts to 2.1 million euros. Through this initiative, those responsible for the Nasrid enclave want to improve the fluidity of passenger and merchandise traffic with Morocco, as well as boost competitiveness for companies.
