The Port of Santander awards the works of the Raos north jetty siding

Built from the track that reaches the north of Raos, to serve the container terminal.

The Santander Port Authority has awarded the works corresponding to the new rail yard that will serve the future container terminal of this logistics enclave. The estimated value of the contract amounts to 1.7 million euros.

(30/01/2023)

The works will have an execution period of six months and will be carried out from the road that reaches the north of Raos that will serve the container terminal. The contract has been awarded to the consortium formed by Cycasa Canteras and Construcciones y Cuevas Gestión de Obras.

The specialization of container traffic presents incompatibilities with the current layout of roads in the Northern Breakwater of Raos, and since, according to the Santander Port Authority “these roads continue to the agri-food terminal and prevent proper exploitation of the new container, recently awarded”. At the end of November 2022 (see news) an investment of 5.5 million was approved for the renovation of the Northern Railroad of the Espigón Central de Raos.
