The Port of Santander delivers two premises to the police for access control

The Santander Port Authority (spain) and the National Police Corps have closed a collaboration agreement in which the Corps is provided with two premises located in the service area of the Santander compound to control the entry and exit of the national territory of Spaniards and foreigners.

The first of these facilities, currently occupied by police offices, is located in the maritime station and offers an area of 188.96 m², while the second, known as “Shed V”, has 62.95 m² in the ground floor and 62.85 m² on the first floor, and is located opposite the headquarters of the Port Authority.

Precisely from the Santander enclave they have stressed the importance of collaborating between both institutions to improve passenger transport, and have thanked the work of the State Security Corps and Forces for their daily work in the port public domain.

The agreement will be active for a period of fifty years, but will not imply the transfer of the port public domain. For its part, the Santander Port Authority will be in charge of composing the rehabilitation project of Tinglado V and the financing and execution of the works, while the National Police Corps will manage the expenses in goods, services and supplies necessary for the control entry and exit of people in the premises.

Another project that the police have in hand is the integration of eleven cabins for the identity control of passengers who embark or disembark in motor vehicles in the terminal and another two cabins for travelers who do so on foot in the maritime station of the Port of Santander.

Apart from this initiative, the Port of Santander has recently been the setting for the inauguration of the new Boluda Maritime Terminals container terminal, which has involved an investment of 20 million euros. The Cantabrian mooring will have a hinterland for container traffic.
