The Port Authority of Seville (Spain) has begun work to carry out a new assessment of the land and water surface of its service area by bidding for technical assistance work.

In compliance with legal precepts, the valuations of the port’s land and water can be reviewed for the entire service area and the land used for navigation aids every five years and, at least, every ten years.

The determination of the value of the land and water is essential to calculate the amount of the occupation fee that the Port Authority receives for the occupation of the port public domain by virtue of authorization or concession, since the tax base of the fee is the value of the occupied public domain property.

With the aim of adjusting the costs derived from the occupation of the public port domain to the current demands of competitiveness and efficiency of the port market, the Port Authority of Seville is preparing to review the valuation of the land.

Because the port entity does not have the means, materials or sufficient personnel to carry out this work, a bidding process has been initiated to award the work to a private company. This project, with an execution period of one and a half years, has a base bidding budget of 96,800 euros and an estimated contract value of 80,000 euros.

Apart from this project, the Port of Seville has awarded a contract to the company Railsur to make improvements to the railway system in the Free Zone. The contract has a value of 738,053.08 euros and an execution period of four months.
