The Port Authority of Vigo (Spain) has evaluated eight alternatives to carry out the necessary actions to improve access to the Bouzas ferry terminal. These improvements will focus on the section that runs from the roundabout connecting with the VG-20 to the exit of the terminal, as well as on the section of the entrance road to the Repairs dock, which includes from the same roundabout to the control of Access.

The main objective of the initiatives is the optimization of sidewalks, the renewal of road surfaces, the reorganization of spaces to increase parking areas and the improvement of drainage and lighting networks in the area.

Given the requirement to create parking spaces for dealers in the area, it has been decided to eliminate certain green areas that are small in size and difficult to maintain. As for the sidewalks, in general, they are planned to be reconstructed using stamped concrete pavements and their designs are sought to be standardized to maximize parking areas.

In addition, it is considered essential to strengthen the resistance of the pavement in both road sections to guarantee its durability, especially in the face of the heavy traffic that is recorded in the region. These improvement tasks, with an estimated execution period of six months, have a base bidding budget of 775,397.12 euros and an estimated contract value of 640,824.07 euros.

The companies that have submitted their offers in this process are Construcciones Fechi, Covsa, Construcciones y Obras Taboada Ramos, Excavaciones y Construcciones Laureano Covelo, Francisco Gómez y Cía, Hordescon, Prace, Servicios y Obras and Proyecon Galicia.
