The Port Authority of Vigo (Spain) has awarded the contract to carry out the conditioning of the exit road to the Bouzas ferry terminal to the Coruña company Francisco Gómez y Cía, with an amount of 714,218.29 euros and a completion period of six months.

The works will be carried out in the section that goes from the roundabout connecting with the VG-20 to the exit of the terminal itself, as well as in the section of the entrance road to the Repairs dock, included between the same roundabout and the access control.

Specifically, the work will focus on improving sidewalks, wearing courses, redistributing spaces to maximize parking and improving drainage and lighting networks.

Given the need to create parking spaces for dealers in the area, it has been decided to eliminate some small green areas that are difficult to maintain. As for the sidewalks, in general, they will be reconstructed using stamped concrete pavements, homogenizing the layouts to maximize parking spaces.

Likewise, it is considered essential to improve the resistant capacity of the pavement on both roads, adopting an appropriate solution to the heavy traffic that is registered in the area.

Apart from improving the quality of its facilities, the Spanish maritime sector also pays special attention to the integration of renewable energies. In this sense, the Port Authority of Bilbao has expanded its strategy to support the wind energy sector in Europe by joining the European Wind Charter. The accession was carried out jointly with representatives of the European Commission, 23 Energy Ministers of the European Union and more than 300 companies in the field of wind energy.
