Some even allow you to change places thanks to their mobility concept. They all have, however, the concept of reconnecting with nature, as close to it as possible, like a tree house.
A case taken one step further is the Trunk Bunk prototype, conceived by Henry K. Wein and presented during the Dutch Design Week held in Eindhoven. This house captures the idea of reconnecting with nature with incredible mobile versatility. It is a tree house made with light materials, with the ability to fold quickly and easy to transport due to its lightness.
A house to connect with nature
Henry K. Wein He is the creator of the portable tree house which he has named Trunk Bunk, which allows its occupant to sleep in a different tree every night. Its innovative system of belts and pulleys with which it has been conceived, allows it to be installed and dismantled quickly and with great ease and effectiveness in all types of trees. “It is a playful, almost poetic concept that offers a unique experience,” explains the German designer.

Ease of assembly for unique views
The installation on the tree begins by throwing a rope over a horizontal branch strong enough to support the weight of the house and its occupants. Next, the system of pulleys and belts is used to lift the already assembled house to the desired height. Once in place, the house can be secured to the main trunk of the tree with a tensioned strap.
The Trunk Bunk can be placed at practically any desired height. But care must be taken since “At some point you will have to climb the tree to fix the ropes”. Coinciding with this, to facilitate access to the house, an adjustable rope ladder is used that hangs from the entrance and, once inside, can be stored inside.
Wein himself has experimented with the design of his prototype by sleeping in it. His feelings have been clear: “The sight of looking directly at the tree makes you feel like you are part of it”. Comfort is also a point that stands out, thanks to the slightly elastic ropes that provide great suspension, “away from uncomfortable roots, stones and soil moisture”. At heights, the mind feels protected, but the windows allow you to observe everything that happens around you.
The ideal tree to plant a house
Once the house is assembled, you must look for the most suitable tree to install it. Wein himself says that, The most suitable are the trees that are located on the edges of the forests or in small clearings., since they have the most suitable branches.
