The Ports of Valparaíso fell 7.7% in mobilization during 2022 |

The ports located in the Valparaíso region, in central Chile, mobilized a total of 50.86 million tons throughout 2022, a decrease of 7.7%.

In the case of containers, the drop was 6.5% compared to 2021, adding 2,466,169 TEUs processed.

The ports of Ventanas, Valparaíso and San Antonio operate in the region, among others.

Figures from the National Institute of Statistics (INE) indicate that 4.42 million tons were mobilized in December, a decline of 3.6% compared to the same month in 2021.

Compared to November, the record means an increase of 0.65 million tons, equivalent to 17.3%.

The total cargo shipped was 1.83, rising 19.3% year-on-year, equivalent to 0.30 million additional tons. Compared to the previous month, it presented a variation of 45.9%.

Shipments abroad were 1.45 million tons, a figure that represents an increase of 14.0% year-on-year. Meanwhile, cabotage services shipped totaled 0.38 million tons, a figure that grew 45.2% year-on-year.
