The pre-primary parade started at Benito Juárez Park, and around 2,900 boys and girls, between 4 and 6 years old, from 38 educational centers in Quetzaltenango, participated in this colorful activity. The children marched to the rhythm of melodies they themselves performed. With their uniforms and costumes, the children became the protagonists of the day, while Quetzaltecos took to the streets to witness the activity.

The Central American Independence Fair is a major event in Quetzaltenango, and its activities, which extend over several days, include concerts, parades and other cultural activities.

A group that celebrated the achievements of renowned Quetzaltecan athletes, such as Carlos Argueta and Bárbara Schoenfeld, also stood out, carrying signs or bands with their names and sports disciplines.

Another group of children recreated a little train in honor of the historic Ferrocarril de los Altos, while others formed a small carousel. Also, a special participation was that of the School Band of the Educational Center for Deaf Children of the Western Region “Doctora HC Elisa Molina de Stahl”, who joined the celebration, highlighting their skills.
