TShadow of Lens on Wednesday, FC Nantes offered itself the right to dream a little more of a new coronation in the Coupe de France, for the second year in a row. And for their semi-final, Antoine Kombouaré’s players will face Lyon! The draw for the last four took place on Thursday 2 March. The other poster will concern Annecy, the last representative of Ligue 2, which caused a real shock on Wednesday by eliminating OM in the quarter-final at the Vélodrome stadium. Annecy which will therefore receive Toulouse. The Violets did not go into detail and crushed Rodez 6-1 on Wednesday.
Annecy therefore created a huge surprise by eliminating Marseille (2-2, 7 pens to 6), which was chasing an eleventh trophy in the event. And who may have lost more than a chance to lift the cup. For Annecy, it is an appointment with history that is coming. This is the first time that the Haute-Savoie club has reached the last four of the Coupe de France. For the third time in a row, FCA had to go through the penalty shootout on Wednesday, after Belfort in 1/16 and Paris FC in 1/8.
The party at Beaujoire for Nantes?
FC Nantes, winners last year, will host a Lyon team at La Beaujoire, which has not won this trophy since 2012. The Lyonnais won 2-1 against Grenoble on Tuesday. A week after their elimination from the Europa League against Juventus Turin, Nantes beat the third in Ligue 1 Lens (2-1), thanks to a double from Andy Delort, and won the right to “continue to dream” at a second consecutive title, according to his trainer, Antoine Kombouaré. In 2022, this trophy had opened the doors of the Europa League to the club.
“Very happy to receive. It’s up to us to make the match to bring the supporters to the Stade de France. We are aware that the supporters want the double,” reacted Nantes striker Andy Delort after the draw.
The four teams will face each other on April 4 and 5 and the final is scheduled for April 29 at the Stade de France.
