The prefecture of Aïn Chock celebrates the 19th anniversary of the INDH

The celebration, held under the sign ”The first 1000 of the day: Foundation of the future of our children”, was marked by the presentation of the results of the projects registered as part of the third phase of this royal initiative.

In a speech, the governor of the district prefecture of Aïn Chock, Mounir Hammou, noted that the celebration of this anniversary focused on early childhood, is part of the High Royal Guidelines contained in the message sent by the Sovereign to participants in the first national conference on human development, held on September 19, 2019 in Skhirat.

To further mark this commitment to early childhood, he announced the organization from May 22 to June 22 of a national campaign in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection on the first thousand days of life. of the child, given their crucial importance in his development.

Mr. Hammou, also president of the Prefectural Human Development Committee, spoke of the efforts undertaken to reduce the risks of mortality during this decisive period in the life of each human being, underlining the commitment at the level of the Aïn Chock prefecture for the improvement of health care for mothers and children.

While welcoming the “positive results” achieved so far, he called for the pooling of efforts and more consultation with a view to consolidating the achievements and ensuring the success of the planned projects.

During this ceremony, the prefectural delegate of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, Mohamed Lotfi gave an exhaustive presentation on the programs successfully launched in favor of maternal and child health, as well as on the nutrition and vaccination plan, noting with satisfaction the decline in the maternal and infant mortality rate.

The ceremony was also marked by testimonies delivered by associative actors active in the field of maternal and child health, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, as part of projects launched in the framework of the INDH in partnership with the prefectural delegation of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.

Still on this note, Hind Hanine, head of the social action division at the district prefecture of Aïn Chock, underlined in a statement to MAP, the importance of the national awareness campaign focused on health of the mother and the child, reporting the implementation of 10 projects as part of the 3rd phase of the INDH mainly relating to the acquisition of food supplements for children as well as the encouragement of breast-feeding. Projects costing 1.5 million dirhams for 12,000 mothers and their children in the Aïn Chock district prefecture.

The participants in this celebration then paid a visit to the social complex for human development in Aïn Chock where a multidisciplinary medical caravan is being held, organized in partnership with the Prefectural Delegation of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, with the program including distribution food supplements for children, prescription glasses as well as medical consultations. Added to this is the distribution of baby kits to the maternity ward of the Mohamed Sekkat provincial hospital.
