The Azerbaijan State Academic Russian Drama Theater hosted the premiere of the play “Eight Loving Women,” staged by Raulya Turkkan based on the play of the same name by the French writer Robert Thomas, Day.Az reports with reference to Trend Life. The premiere was a gift from the creative team on International Women’s Day – March 8th. And those who were unable to attend the premiere can watch the performance today.

This is a family drama and detective story about how ladies of three generations and their household members conduct an independent investigation into the murder of the head of the family, who is found with a knife in his back. All this happens on Christmas Eve in the French countryside, where it is snowing heavily, the house is skidding, the gate is locked, there is a high wall that is impossible to climb over, poisoned dogs, a cut telephone line and it is not even possible to call the police. And then 8 women close to the owner of the house (wife, two daughters, sister, sister’s wife, mother-in-law, manager and maid) begin their investigation. Each is under suspicion, and at this moment terrible family secrets begin to be revealed. The viewer is plunged into a whirlpool of unspoken things, lies and intrigue, and the heroines are faced with a non-trivial task – to find the killer of the father of the family. And now the once beautiful, sweet ladies are ready, as often happens in critical situations, to “peck” each other to death, destroying the idyll of a friendly and prosperous family. The killer is one of them…

The premiere was met with applause and flowers from the audience.
