On Thursday, June 27, 2024, the Presidency of the Republic announced the disbursement of USD 975,840.15 as compensation to 24,259 transporters. This measure is part of the mechanisms implemented to stabilize the prices of Extra and Ecopaís gasoline.
The distribution of payments according to the type of transport is detailed below:
- Taxis: 22,269 beneficiaries
- Light/mixed load: 1,348 beneficiaries
- Tricycles/mototaxis: 642 beneficiaries
The compensation program, governed by Executive Decree 306, includes carriers who registered on the platform and met all the necessary requirements for registration.
How do I register on the compensation platform?
STEP 1: Enter the platform of the Ministry of Transport and Public Works: www.obraspublicas.gob.ec
STEP 2: Accept the personal data processing policy.
STEP 3: Click register.
STEP 4: Enter your ID number and fingerprint code.
STEP 5: Enter your email, create a strong password and confirm it (the password must contain at least 8 characters, including an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter and a number)
STEP 6: Check your email for a verification code and enter it.
STEP 7: Log in with your ID number or RUC and the password generated previously.
STEP 8: Fill in the details for the deposit: bank name, ID and account number. Upload the bank certificate in PDF file.
STEP 9: Submit the form. You will then be registered for compensation.
