The President of Gambia receives Al-Koni on the sidelines of the Islamic Summit

The President of the Republic of The Gambia, Adama Barrow, received the representative of the Presidential Council, Musa Al-Koni, on the sidelines of his participation in the 15th session of the Organization of the Islamic Conference Summit in Banjul.

According to what the Council’s Media Office reported, the meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between Libya and Gambia in many fields, especially Libyan investments in Gambia, and working to achieve stability on the African continent, in cooperation with member states in the African Union space, the Organization of the Islamic Conference, and the Community of Sahel States. And the desert (S – Y).

President Adama Barrow stressed the importance of working to achieve stability and unity in Libya, so that it can return to its effective and pivotal role in the African continent, and agreed to continue cooperation and consultation on issues of concern to the African continent and Islamic countries.

The Gambian President also affirmed his commitment to working to promote greater unity and solidarity among the member states of the Organization of the Islamic Conference during his term in office, and Gambia’s commitment to the principles of the organization.

Representative in the Presidential Council, Musa Al-Koni, participated in the 15th summit of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, which began yesterday, Saturday, in the Gambian capital, Bingol, under the slogan “Promoting unity and solidarity through dialogue for sustainable development.”

The leaders of the member states will discuss the political issues of the Islamic world, most notably the Palestinian issue, and the issues of youth, women, the family, science, technology, media, and Muslim communities and groups in non-member countries of the organization, according to what the Presidential Council’s media office reported.

The summit, which concludes its work tomorrow, Sunday, will also discuss issues related to rejecting hate speech and Islamophobia, promoting dialogue, and issues of climate change and food security.

It is noteworthy that the summit was held at the five-star Atlantic Hotel in the capital, Bingol, which it owns and manages Libya Africa Investment Portfolio.
