President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev awarded a large group of Kazakh citizens who showed courage, professionalism and civic responsibility in rescuing passengers of an Azerbaijan Airlines plane near the city of Aktau, operating on a Baku-Grozny flight on December 25, Tokayev’s press service said in a statement, Day reports. It is reported that among the awarded are employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, doctors, police officers, employees of the Mangistau Regional Electric Grid Company and the international airport of Aktau.
Let us recall that last night the bodies of three crew members (pilots Igor Kshnyakin, Alexander Kalyaninov and flight attendant Hokyuma Aliyeva), as well as 21 passengers were taken to Baku.
It should be noted that earlier 14 wounded and the bodies of 4 dead were delivered to Baku.
There were 62 passengers and 5 crew members on board the crashed plane, for a total of 67 people. As a result of the incident, 38 people were killed and 29 were injured.
The aircraft’s “black box” has been discovered and procedures are being carried out to analyze it in accordance with international aviation conventions. An investigation into the causes of the disaster is currently underway. Final conclusions will be made after completion of all necessary studies and data analysis.
