President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov called on the CIS countries to join forces to implement joint projects to develop generation, exchange of energy resources and renewable energy sources (RES).

As Day.Az reported on Tuesday with reference to the press service of the President, Sadyr Japarov said this at the next meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS CIS) in a narrow format in Moscow.

According to the President, these measures will strengthen the region’s energy security and reduce dependence on hydrocarbons.

Japarov noted that in order to increase the efficiency of using renewable energy sources, it is necessary to introduce modern digital technologies and develop a general program for the implementation of smart grids in the CIS countries, which will improve the management of energy systems, optimize the distribution of resources and minimize losses.

The President also noted that Kyrgyzstan is aimed at further increasing multifaceted cooperation within the CIS, increasing mutual trade, developing and improving transport and logistics routes, creating joint projects in industrial cooperation, agriculture, infrastructure and other areas.

“We are also interested in working together to ensure food and energy security, as well as gaining access to new advanced technologies and innovations,” the head of state said.

The President proposed paying special attention to the development of the agro-industrial complex, referring to the agro-industrial base of the CIS countries, which allows them to provide themselves with the necessary products and reduce imports.
