MADRID, 8 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The President of Tunisia, Kais Saied, has announced on Tuesday the dismissal of his Foreign Minister, Othman al Jarandi, in what has been the fourth dismissal of a ministerial portfolio in the cabinet since the beginning of 2023.

The Tunisian Presidency office has reported that Saied “has decided to terminate the functions” of Al Jarandi, while his position has been taken over by diplomat Nabil Ammar, without giving further details about the decision to change.

Ammar has been Tunisia’s ambassador in Brussels and before the European Union, in addition to having represented the country in Oslo and London.

Barely a week ago, the Tunisian president removed from office the ministers of Education and Agriculture, Fatí al Saluti and Abdel Moneim Balati, respectively, limiting himself to noting “a partial change of the Government.”

In addition, at the beginning of the month, Saied dismissed the Minister of Commerce, Fadila al Rabhi, the first member of the Executive of Prime Minister Najla Bouden to have been relieved; and Fakher Fakhfakh, governor of Sfax, in the east of the country, located at a common point of migratory routes.
