The President has so far pardoned 14 persons and considered the pardon requests of 181 convicted persons.
A request for pardon can be submitted after the court verdict has entered into force, except in cases where a person has been sentenced to imprisonment for a serious or particularly serious crime.

In contrast, if sentenced to life imprisonment, the person must serve no less than 20 years of imprisonment before submitting the request.
